Q.  I bought some Earth Kind Roses at Herb Day - but when do I need to start feeding them?  At planting or wait a while?

A.  Earth Kind roses are supposed to be easy care, but they will perform best if given some fertilizer when they begin to grow in the spring.  Best time to fertilize is after pruning in spring, then after the first bloom cycle and then again in mid August for a good fall show of blooms.  Water the roses well before and after applying any fertilizer.
